academic outcast
remember that old playground as kids,
with the rusty monkey bars.
the biggest playground fear,
without falling, tightly grasping onto the
bars, the challenge of getting across safely.
these playgrounds are in the past,
instead of bars we swing from class to class,
skimming unnecessarily expensive textbooks
steadily scribbling useless notes, grasping
tightly onto cardboard coffee cups.
failing is the college taboo,
labelled an academic outcast for
not completing heinous
tasks
