A Self-Care Routine For The Busy Girl

Life can get hectic and more often than not we tend to put our personal selves on the sidelines while life keeps on going. It is important to keep our minds and our body's sane and to help with that, there needs to be a routine or some sort of self-care ritual for our ever busybody.

Self-care, by definition, is to care for oneself. Besides our daily needs, we need to treat yourself to some sort of care, ranging from sleeping in, to buying a new outfit. Self-care will depend on how you feel and what you think it will take to feel better because let's be real, we deserve more than just one day.

To start, here are some ideas to help you take better care of yourself daily, instead of just once in a while.

1. Shower or take a bath every day

By showering or taking a bath every day, you will be able to wash away the day's troubles. It will also help you sleep or start your day off fresh. It helps relax the body and mind.

2. Drink water and eat healthily

By taking this little step to make sure you get your eight glasses of water a day and to eat all your greens, your body and your mind will thank you.

3. Get eight hours of sleep each night

It might seem like you never can do this, but maybe leaving that assignment undone or leaving your friend's place a little early with help you feel rejuvenated the following day. Skipping out on a night out every once in a while will help you in the long run.

4. Face mask once a week

After washing your face every day, a face mask once a week will help your face after a week of chaos and just plain life. I recommend Lush's Mask of Magnaminty. It softens and preserves your face. It also smells amazing.

5. Organize your desk

Make sure you have a clean space to work and live in. It will help you keep focused and feel at ease.

Every day we need to help better ourselves and take care of ourselves. Stay calm, meditate if it helps. Read even. We are all busy and sometimes life just gets in the way. Make sure you take care of yourself no matter how busy you are.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
