With spring break approaching, that also means...the dreaded finals week. We have to push through the storm first before we can enjoy the calm. It can get super hectic, and sometimes we forget to take care of ourselves.
When finals are approaching, I don't even know what to do with myself sometimes. I get overwhelmed and I don't even know where to start. Then when I finally do get going, it's hard to break back in and out of that working zone. I'll literally forget basic things, like eating a decent meal because I'm so caught up in everything I have to complete.
Let's not let this happen to us this year! It affects your mind and body more than you realize. If you're not taking care of yourself, your body will want to shut down, which is probably why we're always noticeably more groggy as exams and final projects approach
If we're forgetting to take breaks and eat meals, we won't have the energy to keep going. I also find that what I eat during finals week to stay energized is so important. I know it probably sounds enticing and convenient to just eat greasy and fast crappy food because its readily available and you don't have to cook anything, but it seriously slows you down so much. Eat fresh, bright foods because those will give you a natural boost; I always say they make you feel the way they look! You can't get by with just snacking on chips and nutter butters all day long, you need real, fresh food.
It's also important to give yourself a break. A real break; not a working on things as you eat break. Step away from the work for a little bit and let your mind refresh. Cook yourself a fresh meal and let that be your break time--kill two birds with one stone!
Stay healthy and good luck!
