Two EDM enthusiasts and a lifelong musician walk into a casino's concert and other events space. They look around at all of the other patrons and also at the lengthy lines for concessions and merchandise.
This isn't the start of a joke and in that same vein; there is no punchline. This is reality. It's hard to know what to feel when the people who were a significant part of your "growing-up" soundtrack are going to be playing some of your favorite songs in front of you.
You can just envision how much your legs and feet are going to hurt after all the dancing and standing you'll be doing during the show. When you get inside, your knees buckle and you are ready for what is to come. You end up ruining the voice you worked so hard to keep healthy by screaming along to the vibrant songs but you think, That's quite alright. This is just what is to come of going to concerts.
You look at the two people you came with, people you haven't known for all that long but nonetheless have become quite close to you. You look at them and you look at the musicians in front of you and you just stop and go into yourself for a minute. You're actually here and you get to listen to songs that you've tried to learn over the years by the people who wrote them.
And for a weekday night during your new life away from the one you fit into like a glove, that's pretty damn mental.
