The nine relatives you spend the holidays with...
1. Great Grandparents
If you are lucky enough to have your great grandparents around, they are basically the core of the family. They keep everything running smoothly, and your get-togethers and dinners are always at their house.
2. Grandma
Your grandma, from cooking your favorite foods to critiquing your outfit. Maybe even interrogating you about boys. And, of course, beating you in cards games at the end of the night.
3. Grandpa
He gives the hands down BEST hugs and is always there to listen to you. He might get a little loud, and get a laugh out of making fun of the younger grandkids, but there is a special place in your heart for him.
4. Favorite aunt/uncle
She may be older than you, and your parent’s brother or sister, but they are like one of your best friends. You guys have a bond like no other and they just get you. They listen to you vent and you learn so much from their advice and life lessons.
5. Weird aunt/uncle
Alright, so we all have one. Your uncle Carl, or aunt Pam. They are out of this world weird, and either has no kids or too many kids to keep track of. Sometimes they get too personal with you, and you don’t feel the most comfortable around them, but of course, you love them.
6. Best friend/cousin
Your cousin who is just a little bit younger or older than you. You guys bond over how dysfunctional your family is, or how annoying your younger siblings are. You see each other every so often, but not too much so when you are together, it is a blast.
7. Younger cousins
Annoying, loud, irritating. These are your younger cousins, they never stop running around and screaming. Everyone yells at them for a while, and then just gives up. While the adults sit around and talk, you are put in charge of them, SO ANNOYING.
8. Random relatives
All the family that is around all of the time, but you don’t really know how you are related or if you are actually even related. You might call them your cousins or aunts and uncles.
9. Significant others
The boyfriends and girlfriends that have been around for years, or maybe the significant others that are new and kind of stick out like a sore thumb for this holiday season. The boyfriends and girlfriends that have been around for years are just apart of the family, and they are treated just like everyone else.
Happy holidays have an amazing time reuniting with all your lovely family members!
