Let It Rain, You Can Take The Storm

At all times, you’re preparing for a storm, going through one, or coming out of it.

Let It Rain, You Can Take The Storm
Mary Day

I was once told that at each point in our life we are either walking into a storm, going through it, or coming out. At first I thought this was a horribly negative way to look at the situations of life, that every day is a blessing not another part of a terrible event waiting to happen. But when we reflect on day to day life, often times it can seem like storm after storm hitting without warning. The amazing part is those storms bless us too.

We face storms everyday- big or small- and at all times, no matter what situation we face, God is preparing us, pulling us, and healing us. And through this cycle of the storm His beauty is revealed.

As we walk into the storm, He is there. Whether it hits suddenly, or has been building up for what feels like forever, we are far more prepared than we believe. God graces us each day with strength, wisdom, love, more than enough to equip us with all we need to face whatever lies ahead.

When the storm is at its worst, He is there. There is dependence, comfort, grace, and more and more love. The Lord reminds us we are never alone, we are never lost, we are never outcast. We are His, and just as He has prepared us for our storms, He is prepared to pull us through.

When the storm ends, He is there. Coming out of a storm, we get to experience healing, peace, and redemption. We know God gives and takes away. Although storms can leave behind damage- hurt, anger, regret- God's there to clean up the mess. He uses people and situations to strengthen relationships both with him and on earth, and when the storm has passed, His plans are revealed, and as promised, they are good.

In a world engulfed in chaos, in lives overwhelmingly surrounded by temptations and heartbreak, in an abundance of storms, there is always hope. There is an abundance of blessing. There is God.

Wether the storm is coming, here, or passing, there is beauty in it. And that beauty is, He is there.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
