How good do you want your semester to be? Really? On a scale from 1-10, how good will you semester actually be? To be honest, it will be want you want it to be. You can apply yourself as much or as little as you so choose- so what path will you go down?
My suggestion is to get your mind and body into the game. To do this, I would lift some weights, swim a few laps, or do some exercises that you so choose because the endorphins in your brain will be charged and will help you focus on your academic success. This and a cup of hot coffee will spark up your morning very much, at least for me.
As Carole King's lyrics go: "...you got to wake up every morning with a smile on your face and show the world all the love in your heart." For me, these lyrics represent a new day every morning with choices at my disposal - which choices will you choose? Every morning is a new day filled with new experiences and opportunities. If you ask me, never go into a day with a negative mindset because that will most likely not get you very far.
Of course we have those days where we literally don't want to leave the bedroom. On these types of days, you just got to really push yourself. Believe me, the anticipation of actually doing work and whatever daily activities you have to do isn't as bad as when you're actually performing those events.
Let's say you're still in this funk. You can't go treating others with this type of childish mannerism, now can you? Of course not. Although you're in that funk and the day clearly isn't yours, you still need to put on that winning smile and show everyone the type of person you really are.
This is how my semester will be most effective to meet my goals and aspirations, as well as the rest of my college years. I'm going to live every single day to the fullest, because let's be real - work never ends, but college does. As much as I admire and love this very accurate saying, senior year is right around the corner. That means the rest of my college career is going to be spent on internship searches and possible future career choices.
I'm not really looking forward to that. As of now, I am focusing on my current happiness and not trying to worry about the future so much. We only have four years in college, so I am trying to take in all of it right now as I write because we will most likely never experience life like this ever again. In the real working world, we need to support our one day families with a roof on top of our heads.
I know it will be hard, but hopefully this semester of college will bring my closer to this chapter of my life.
