What's next to learn?

quarantine chill hobbies

With quarantine lasting for months now, we were forced to find new hobbies to fall in love with. Some tried to make their own clothes, tie-dye sweatpant outfits or even learning that new Tik Tok dance you've always wanted to learn. No matter what we decided to learn next, it wasn't going to be the only new hobby on the list. We have had to find so many new, interesting ways to have fun inside your home. What I didn't realize was, quarantine showing me who I really was, meaning that I am not as much as an introvert than I thought! I like being able to go outside and walk to the nearest coffee shop and sit out or shop around at different thrift stores. But, how can we do those same things if we can't go outside?

Well, I learned that anything can be done if you're creative! Personally, I spent this time to learn more about myself and my interests. I had fun playing with all my makeup and doing different looks. I tried making my own face masks and lip scrubs with different ingredients. I even tried a Tik Tok dance and SLAYED IT HONEY, but the question is, what was something that stuck with me during this time. In full honesty, it was being able to learn my interests. It is so hard to understand what things truly interest you, when on a daily basis we are all going to work, finishing homework, trying to graduate or even taking care of your siblings or your own children. Quarantine gave us time to look within ourselves to see what makes us happy, not the Venti Starbucks drink with two pumps of vanilla will always be around, but the hobby of always wanting to better yourself will.

Even though whats going on in the world is scary and very unknown of what will happen next, but at least during this time, we can find things to do that make us happy. We deserve the free time to bring joy into our lives, we deserve to learn new things in a comfortable environment, we deserve to have some time to chill and find the next stage in our life.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
