People say that there is no better feeling than walking out of the classroom on the last day of finals and right into the door of a month-long vacation. After being buried waste deep in papers, exams and a slew of mandatory requirements, I think we can all agree that a few weeks away from the stress of college can be beneficial. Yet, what seemingly remains underrated is the thought of returning to school after winter break. In actuality, it is one of the best feelings.
If you attend a university out of your state, you are guaranteed to miss your friends and family from home upon your return to school. On the other hand, you have spent four entire weeks away from your college friends and roommates, which is surely a cause for a mass celebration together as you reunite. This is not your first syllabus week, so you already know the social scene will live up to its expectations.
In contrast to all of the nights spent out, there is something so refreshing about walking into a brand new classroom and being surrounded with unfamiliar faces. It's a new quarter and you stand face to face with a clean grading slate. Your five unexcused absences from one class no longer remain relevant, as well as your lack of overall participation. Oh, and not to mention all of the small assignments you forgot to hand in that have accumulated over time. You now have fresh topics to discuss, new goals to achieve and accomplishments to be made.
Let this time be filled with moments of happiness and success, and let nothing stand in your way of making the most of the rest of the quarter.
