I have always loved cats. This was true even before I had them as pets. They were a birthday gift for my father, and since they arrived eight years ago, Mario and Kirby have been a joy to have in our home. That being said, here are some scenarios you don't really know until you are a cat owner.
1. At night...
"I will sit outside the door and sing the song of my people, in hopes that they rescue me."
2. You have a choice to make...
Your plants or your cats. Cats are carnivores, but eating plants is a normal cat behavior. There are many reasons your cat might eat plants: for fiber, for an extra food source, because it feels/tastes good or just chasing a catnip high. The prevalence of this behavior in cats often leads to the disappearance of plants from many a household.
3. TFW they wake you up in the middle of the night to party
Okay, so this one might apply more broadly to pet owners, but we all know the feeling of being forcibly woken up because our dear friend(s) have decided that dawn is a perfect time to stage a raging party on our bedspreads.
4. Fur everywhere
Again this is more general, but if you own a piece of clothing that doesn't have fur on it, do you even own a furry friend?
5. This.
You want to move, but they're so comfy and cute... not to mention they make great foot warmers.
6. How they view food, human and cat.
This always seems to hold particularly true with table scraps.
