It's the one time of year we've all looked forward to since we were in first grade, summer time. The time where we can sleep in on certain days and jump in the pool anytime we want. Summer exists to remind us all that time is short and we have to make the most of the three months given.

Every summer is filled with plans and ideas to do something spontaneous or new, but sometimes those plans and ideas never follow through. This summer make a promise to yourself that you'll have the best time ever. Make it a summer to remember.

Here's a list of several ideas for a summer bucket list:

1. Go cliff jumping.

2. Have a spontaneous road trip.

3. Hike new trails.

4. Camp in the backyard.

5. Volunteer at the animal shelter.

6. Stay out all night with friends.

7. Go night fishing.

8. Catch fireflies.

9. Have a movie night with friends.

10. Read a book you've always wanted to read.

11. Spend an entire day at the lake.

12. Run farther than you've ever ran.

13. Have a huge water balloon fight with friends.

14. Have a picnic.

15. Go to the local fair.

16. Canoe or kayak down the river.

17. Get a new piercing.

18. Swim in the creek.

19. Have a pool party with friends.

20. Wake up early and go for a walk.

21. Catch up on sleep for an entire day.

22. Spend time with a loved one.

23. Visit a new state.

24. Get a tattoo.

25. Go skinny dipping.

26. Pick apples at an orchid.

27. Call up an old friend and go to lunch.

28. Have an entire day at the aquarium or zoo.

29. Spend the day with your mom or dad.

30. Play a sport you've never played before.

31. Have a playground day, where you play with chalk, hula hoop, and jump rope.

32. Make homemade popsicles.

33. Go horseback riding.

34. Go to a concert of an artist you've never seen.

35. Ride all the rides at an amusement park.

36. Drive around with the windows down and music blaring.

37. Have a bonfire and make s'mores.

38. See a scary movie at midnight.

39. Invite a big group of friends over for breakfast.

40. Have a huge sleepover with all your friends.

41. Pick out clothes in your closet to donate.

42. Start a blog.

43. Have a summer crush/fling.

44. Plant a garden.

45. Run around barefoot.

46. Plan a weekend trip.

47. Grill out with family and friends.

48. Swim all day.

49. Dance all night.

50. Take pictures.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
