Many have said that life is a marathon, not a sprint. However, who says that has to be true for everyone? Everybody is different. We all go through different life experiences. Often times, people feel that they have to live life at the rate society tells them to or they won't be successful.
Your life should be ran at your own pace.
There are thousands of self-help books and inspirational speakers who can attempt to give you guidance on how you should live in order to be successful. The sad reality is: they don't have all the answers. A piece of paper will not tell you how to cope when an unexpected bill comes up, and you're forced to figure a way out. They won't be able to tell you whether to take a semester off to take care of family issues or to persevere through. Many of those self-help books are a generalization, it may be hard to apply them to your own specific, life experiences.
Regardless of the guidance you receive, the choice is ultimately yours at the end of the day. Whether you choose to sprint the marathon or walk the majority of it, the only thing that matters is that you keep moving forward.
