Life Lessons From 'Rugrats'

Because a baby's gotta do what a baby's gotta do.

Life Lessons From 'Rugrats'

As crazy as it sounds, it was August 11th, 1991 when the premiere date of a show changed 90s kids forever. But as time seems to get away from us, we are now officially here and feeling extremely old as "Rugrats" turns 25 years old! But even as we have gotten older and as the show is rarely seen on TV, we 90s kids still find connections to the brilliance and very funny show that Nickelodeon created. I mean, really, how could we forget? Looking back, "Rugrats" did actually have valuable life lessons that can most definitely be taken today.

Don't look for friends who are exactly the 'same' as you are.

When we are young, we never realize how big the world is and do not understand or even care about the ideas of race, ethnicity or gender. The Rugrats babies accepted each other for who they were, even if they looked differently and liked different things.

Be comfortable in your own skin.

Everyone should try a little harder these days to be more confident like Tommy Pickles.

There are consequences to your negative actions.

Probably the biggest lesson I learned as a child that Rugrats continuously showed throughout the series is the consequences the babies faced when a decision they made wasn't really the best option.

Though they figured it out by themselves own or by one of the adults, overall it shows about how to be a better person to yourself and others by making the right choice.

Value your elders.

Because in the end, they're always the people in the end to stick around, and accept you for you.

Don't let your imagination die!

Take Risks.

Would there even be a Rugrats show if the babies didn't take the risk to seek adventures outside the playpen?

Food is delicious, amazing and the best — so eat it!

Life won't always be easy, and sometimes it's out of your control.

If you can't control it all, take it and own it (aka, make some chocolate pudding).

Don't worry about the future so much, live in the present.

Because eventually you'll grow up, the reality of life will get too busy and too chaotic to handle.

Love your pet as much as he/she loves you!

Sharing is caring! (and can go a long way).

If you're the older sibling, take full advantage!

But still remember to love and be there for your siblings, too.

If you have a dream or a goal, don't give up on — even if it's extremely difficult.

Don't bother with people who don't care about you.

Instead, have an Angelica attitude about haters.

Don't base or lead your life like in the movies — IT'S UNREALISTIC AND FAKE!

When the world needs a difference, be that difference!

With all the terrible and unpredictable incidents that has been unfortunately happening a lot this year, maybe re-watching Rugrats can help our generation step up and make the changes to create a better, loving society.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
