We all know living with a roommate can be difficult. Sometimes they're super annoying and you can't wait for them to leave so that you can have some peace and quiet, while at other times they're your shoulder to cry on when you're going through your mid-semester crisis. Overall, our roommates see us at our worst, our best, and everything in between. We might not always like our roommates (or get along), but we know secretly, sometimes they're our best friends. Here are a few reasons why roomies can be pretty awesome.
1. They're Always Up For A Dance Party
Those 3 A.M. study breaks just to "dance it out" wouldn't be as much fun without them. Besides, dancing by yourself can be pretty awkward.
2. They Double The Size Of Your Snack Stash
Who needs constant grocery trips when your roommate provides for two? If you aren't planning on sharing, your name better be on that food.
3. Borrowing Clothes Is Always Okay
You're not wearing that blazer right, 'cause that'll look better on me, to be honest...
4. They Always Let You In When You Forgot Your Key
"Forgot your pass again?" Of course, why ELSE would I be knocking on the door? You think I'd do this for fun???
5. They're Mom When You're Sick
"Can't you leave me alone? I'm dying!" No, as much as I would love the free tuition I also don't want to live alone. Now drink the tea and thank me later.
6. You Always Have A Built In Wingman
Hey! Haaaavveee you met my roommate? She's single and beyond ready to mingle. Ring by spring is coming to a close, after all!
7. Real Talk Is Always A Thing
Even when you don't want their opinions, they're always there to give you their two cents worth or ten cents worth. It depends on the day.
8. They'll Always Be Your Netflix Cuddle Buddy
"Umm, do ya mind?" Nope, not one bit. Plus, you'll always have a built in "third wheel".
9. They Listen To Your Rants... Sort Of.
Just kidding, they don't really care, but will listen partially anyways. They need the info for blackmail on you later.
10. They're Always Up For Adventure
Hiking? Rock Climbing? Naps? They're up for it all, but especially the naps.
11. They'll Stick Up For You When You Need It
You hurt my roommate, I hurt you.
Overall, our roommates are our family when it comes to college. They know everything about us, they clean up after us, and they love us no matter how much trouble we cause. Because no matter what, we know we have each other, and there's nothing better than that. After all, it's nice to come home to someone you at least tolerate at the end of the day to complain to about how much you dislike everyone else in your life.
