As a college student, I’ve had roommates since my freshman year and with all those roommates there have been bad and there have been good. Some roommates have turned into amazing friends (shout out to yYeilin and Gloria) and others have become the horror stories that you tell your friends. I have so many of the horror stories I don’t even know where to start, so I’ll start from the beginning freshman year.

So, freshman year I was in the apartment style dorm, meaning that I had three other roommates. I mean we were literally the most diverse room you could find we all came from different backgrounds, this is what made us unique. But what made us different was how we acted. Two of the three have become some of my best friends who I still talk to this day, it was the third one who was the bad one. At first, she seemed great but as time went on it become worse and worse, from clogging the toilet every day to just screaming running down the hallway, it was odd no doubt. But the climax of this story was when both toilets had been clogged, thanks to her, and she decided that the trashcan would become her new toilet, I mean who does that. So that was pretty much the end of that roommate, she ended up leaving the school so that became history.

The next ones weren’t much better, the three of them had their own clique since they were seniors, so I was the odd freshman out who they wanted nothing to do with. So, I spent really that whole time in my room trying to hide from them the best I could. That next summer was fun since I was living with a friend and a girl who was never there are really no horror stories to tell from that summer. The next fall was my last semester in the dorms and that again was uneventful since I was living with friends.

The next semester, my first one in an apartment really showed me that living with friends will either make or break your friendship, spoiler alert it broke mine. The other two roommates were just weird and again I didn’t really talk to them, until one night one of them had spent the night drinking and went on and on about how she was a bad whatever, that was when I decided to move out. The next few roommates were normal until the thermostat wars started. No matter what the air will get put up higher because it doesn’t matter whose room is hotter than the rest. Without a doubt within two minutes if changing the air, you hear the door open and the air is up again.

As you can see I have blessed with just the best roommates ever and always have a story to tell when I move. Hopefully you all get legit roommates who will become your best friends and not the opposing side for thermostat wars.
