Road Raging

You people are why I dislike driving.

Road Raging

*Begin Rant*

Imagine this: You're driving back to school from a location that's five hours away. You're trying to be positive about the ride (mainly because you know it's going to suck), you even have a playlist dedicated to surviving the drive. All is going well when BOOM you hit traffic. Traffic sucks. Traffic sucks for everyone involved. But know what sucks more? The assholes you encounter while in traffic. I'm talking about those morons who think "Oh, I need to move over in this bumper to bumper traffic, let me not put on my signal and just cut in." Or maybe you encounter more of the "Oh this person was nice enough to let the car in front of me (who was signaling) into their lane, let me just piggyback off of them (with no signal)." For me, what really gets my blood boiling are those people who drive to the front of a line for an exit, an exit I've been waiting miles to get off of, and cut in so they don't have to wait at all. And for right now I won't even get started on the motorcycles who seem to think traffic laws don't apply to them. That's a rant for another day.

Like, I get it people, you have places to go and people to see. *Valley girl voice* But, like, guess what!? So do I. And you don't see me being an asshole in traffic. I wait patiently (okay so not patiently, but I still wait) to get off the very backed up exit. And I like to give a little warning before I swerve into a lane or, ya know, cut across three. I even allow nice people who signal into my lane all because they know how to use that little lever that takes no energy whatsoever to use.

But wait, I'm confused. When you took your driving test to get your license, did you not fail for not using your turn signal? Because last time I checked, that's actually quite necessary to pass and be a legal driver.

Who am I to say if you're a legal driver? That's a personal question, I totally get it.

Sadly, person who cut me off, you probably won't be pulled over by a cop any time soon. No no no, you're too smart for that. You know the opportune times to defy traffic courtesies.

But just you know that I'll be here. Silently cursing you. Writing articles about you. And you know what? Maybe you'll read this and laugh to yourself thinking "Wow I really have this girl boiling mad." And maybe you do, but I know I'm not the only one. And one by one we are all going to make it impossible for you to cut us off in traffic. We're going to speed up when you try to come into our lanes in the rudest way possible.

You make my life hell, I'll make your trip last a whole three minutes longer. And we both know you don't want that.

*End Rant*

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
