Rising Star, Bryson Tiller Made His Name

Working at Papa John’s and making music, Bryson Tiller didn’t know what he wanted to do with his life. It started with one phone call from music producer, Timbaland. Bryson Tiller, Kentucky native wouldn’t have thought his dream would come true. With his album, TRAPSOUL going gold, the new upcoming artist has many hit songs like “Don’t” and “Sorry not Sorry”. With a gold debut album and a platinum single under his belt, Bryson Tiller graced the stage at Radio City Music Hall Thursday and proved he’s a force to be reckoned with. Throughout the show, Bryson told his story about how he started and reasons for writing his songs. Bryson Tiller takes the stage at Radio City Music Hall once more on Friday night. Bryson tiller took Radio City by storm as he had two sold out shows there, Sounds of Brazil and Webster hall.

When I first heard about “Young Tiller”, I was at J.Cole’s, Forest Hills Drive Tour. Before, J.colecame out to perform, there was music playing for the crowd to enjoy. This soulful melody played and I started to like the song. I googled the lyrics and it came up as “Don’t” by Bryson Tiller. Well, I did my research and came to find out that he has many songs out on his SoundCloud like “Self-Righteous” and “Break Bread”. A couple months later, his debut album, TRAPSOUL, came out. I listened to the album about 5 times. His melodies, his beats, lyrics all tied up into songs about his ex and his life. Many can relate to him and there are others out there that feel the same. I think these types of songs from the heart, originally written by him, make the hits.

This past Thursday night, I went to see him at Radio City Music Hall. For a man new to the music industry, it is a great accomplishment to play there. The sold out show was incredible. Many couples, ethnicities, friends, people of all ages went to see him. He has an opening act called THEY. THEY were a good choice for an opening act because they really hyped the show for Bryson Tiller. Where I sat, was a little high but I saw the whole stage. The lighting and the ambiance was great; mellow, dark and warm. When he came out, screaming fans were excited and happy to see him. The crowd sang along throughout the show. His stage presence and vibes was great. Even though he hurt himself, Bryson still went out to perform a great concert. I was so lucky to go to this concert. He played his whole entire album and songs from his SOUNDCLOUD. Everyone was standing and dancing to his music. He had rocked out the place.

Bryson tiller is an upcoming artist who has made his name in the industry. His story turned into songs, grabs any heart. From love to heartbreak, this 23-year-old, told it all. He made his way super-fast with his album. I always suggest concerts for people to go to and this is definitely one of them.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
