RIP Your GPA...But It's Okay

You goofed, but it's not the end of the world.

It's the end of the semester, and your annoying show off Facebook friends are posting their grades. It's annoying af, right? It seems like your Facebook friends are pregnant at 20, or doing a billion times better than you. But, they're not. Don't worry about them, and focus on what's going right in your own life. Focus on that, and find a way to put more of that positive in your life. You don't suck. Things happen. You had a professor that didn't allow for sick days. Or you had a professor that was SUPER Bernie liberal, and you were ridin' the Trump Train. That's life.

Everyone has heard it: "Your GPA doesn't define you." Or: " Pain is temporary, but GPA is forever," It's true, I mean to a degree, and by degree I mean if you manage to tank it you probably won't get one of those. GPA doesn't measure how smart you are; it does measure how hard you work, but even that's difficult to discern when all sorts of things happen in life and in college that could impact GPA. It's great if ya do have a nice one, but it's not everything. What matters is what connections you make, the opportunities you take, and lessons you learn. Those are what you'll take with you. So, try to not be too upset.

You goofed this semester. You managed to get a D in a class most people get As in. What'd ya learn from that? Maybe you should take shit seriously? Maybe you should get your sorry self to class. Maybe something bad did actually happen to you, annnd maybe you should go talk to someone before you let it get the best of you. Trust me on that one. ( Side note: if you're crazy like me you 1767% thought about cutting brake lines and setting sh*t on fire, but they already took enough. They stole your sleep, your happiness, and peace of mind; but don't you let them steal your freedom.)

Ya screwed up. You went out too much. You chose the wrong friends. You overslept. You didn't grace the doors of the library until finals. Or whatever you did to goof. It's over now. Learn from it. College is tough, and so is life. Whatever you did, don't do it again. Don't blame your professor. They probably did suck tbh, but you're in control of whatever you put your mind to.

So what you're the Jacksonville Jaguars of your school? You go real strong for the first three quarters, but then blow it the fourth. You just gotta do what they did and fire the head coach. Fire what ever is "coaching" your life. What ever is running your life sucks. Go get yourself a Nick Saban.

GPA matters, but it doesn't define you. After school is over, it won't matter. What matters is how much ambition and perseverance you have. Do the right thing and everything will work out. Moral of the story: don't f*ck it up this time and make this semester your b*tch.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
