Life Can Be A Case Of 'Right Person, Wrong Time' I Know That Now

The things that we want will not always match up with the time that we want them.

"Timing is everything." It is a concept that they have written songs about, more movies than I can count revolve around and a sentence that I grew up hearing way too often. Just this morning as I was sitting in a coffee shop, someone at the table next to me said: "Sometimes we just have to let time take its course."

That's when I started pondering the idea of time and the idea that everything has its own time. I've always known the importance of the man-made construct. I've also always known that a lot of times when things don't go as planned, we automatically believe that we should just give up. The truth is, sometimes things don't go as planned because it isn't their time yet.

There is a time for everything, and when the time is right, things will come around. That goes for anything.

Maybe there was a job that you thought you were destined for but didn't get. Don't give up on the job just because you didn't get it that first go around. Get more experience, work hard and try again. When the time is right, you will fill your dream position.

Maybe that just wasn't the job for you to begin with. Again, when the time is right, the job that you are truly destined for will be waiting.

It is up to us to be patient.

Perhaps you met someone that you thought was "the one." You became best friends and you did everything together. You thought maybe, just maybe you guys were meant to exceed the label of "friends." Perhaps things unexpectedly began to change and you didn't understand why. The friendship you once had became distant. Maybe it wasn't your time. Maybe it never will be. If it isn't, I can promise you it is because there is a much bigger plan for you and as you grow and as time moves forward, you will find it.

Maybe that person still is in your plan, but just wasn't meant to be there at that time. When the time is right, you will know.

This concept goes for everything; friendships, relationships, jobs, the future and so much more. Life can be a never-ending cycle of "right person, wrong time," and you can fill that in with any other word. "Right job, wrong time," "Right dream, wrong time," and the list goes on.

The important thing to realize is, it's okay for things not to work out the first go around.

We don't always know what is best for us. Believe me, I know that we think we do but we just don't. Again, it all revolves around time and when that time is actually right.

We aren't always ready for things when we think we are, and that's okay. When the thing that is actually best for us is ready, and more importantly when we are ready, we will take hold of it and we will realize why it was so important for us to be patient.

Maybe we will never get that one thing that we thought we wanted most, but if we give up we will never find the greater thing that has been waiting for us.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
