You guessed it! Apple's new revamp of its software — known as iOS 11 — is a game changer. It takes their software to a whole new level. Being an Apple user, I am happy that they have added the following features to make my life easier.

1. Messages is now integrated with Apple Pay!

You can send money over text to friends. The cash transfer is completely safe and secured by Apple. You can spend the money in the App Store, on the web, or transfer it to a bank. Finally Apple. You understand us. Its so easy to send a gift card on my friend's birthday now!

2. Live photos have been updated to offer better expression.

You can now make the live photos go on a loop, bounce back and forth or long exposure. Way to go, Apple! My live photos are so much more interactive and with their new bounce feature, and I can even create a cool short video with the person going forward and backward.

3. New filters added.

These new filters allow users to better express themselves. Skin tones seem more natural. New technology allows photo size to be compressed to half their size. Vivid pictures actually look amazing and have an amazing color saturation to them.

4. A Redesigned App Store

The App store has completely been revamped with a different layout and a new area dedicated purely to games. It features a today tab, games tab and apps tab. There is also an enhanced feature, game of the day and app of the day.

5. An Advanced Siri

Siri has been updated to a higher level. It now has advanced learning skills and the artificial intelligence level has increased. A new, expressively natural voice has been added to Siri. It can act as your personal DJ, and translate phrases into different languages

6. Apple Music

You can share your music and playlists with friends. Apple Music now allows you to create profiles that can be shared with everyone.

7. AirPlay 2

A new, advanced version has been enhanced to control multiple devices throughout your house!

8. The control center has been integrated with 3D touch.

Finally. Control Center has been refreshed and integrated with 3D touch. Thanks Apple, for understanding what it means to have force touch. Force touch was a cool thing when Apple released it, but I haven't really been able to use it that often. With their new control center, I have found new, exciting ways to interact with it.

9. Notifications are visible from the lock screen.

All your notifications can be seen from the lock screen by pulling down. Hmm... I dont know about this one. They said your lock screen is now your notification bar too. This might be a step in the wrong direction. By making the lock screen your notification center, it takes away the whole purpose of the notification screen. What's the point of doing this Apple?

10. Automatic safety features kick in.

The iPhone can detect if you are driving and will now automatically switch to do not disturb mode. This will prevent the driver from becoming distracted and anyone attempting to text or call you will be automatically notified that you are driving. Now this is a step in the right direction. People can safely drive without reaching for their phone. Studies prove that around 1.6 million car crashes a year are due to cell phone use. This makes texting six times more likely to cause death than driving when drunk.

11. Maps receive basic upgrade.

Indoor maps now allow you to navigate within areas such as airports and malls. You can also the speed limit of the road you are driving on along with the lane you are driving on and the lane you should turn to while navigating.

12. Siri personalizes your newspaper.

Siri can learn what you like and personalize your news stories for you. Spotlight allows you to explore a new, personal topics and news articles that best suit you. However, there's still one thing Apple still needs to improve with news: the notifications. Oh boy, the notifications. We get it, Apple. We know it is important to stay up to date with the world, and we know you love sending us notifications with articles related to our interests. That doesn't make every news article. Maybe if they could tone down the hype on notifications and ease it a little, I would actually tune in more often.

13. Goodbye, keyboard.

Specifically designed for those who want to type quickly, Apple has designed a QuickType keyboard that allows you to type with one hand!

With all these new features coming up in iOS 11, the iPad and iPhone have come one step closer to more user friendly integration. The control center is much easier to use with all your everyday tools, such as flashlight, calculator, volume, brightness, etc. all in one place and integrated with force touch.

All the new iPhones, including iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X all support a key feature in iOS 11, which is augmented reality. Augmented reality allows us to feel immersed in whatever we do, such as the new Apple game Sky which will be coming exclusively to Apple devices soon. As an avid apple user, I can't wait to use these new updates!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine.
