Rest In Peace, "The Walking Dead"

Rest In Peace, "The Walking Dead"

If you're like me, you've been watching "The Walking Dead" since day one. You've got your favorite character picked out, you've been to a Walker-Stalker Convention at least once, and you own at least two to three shirts based off the show.

At the same time, if you're like me, you've also noticed the show going downhill. Main characters with stories to be told are getting killed off, things aren't making sense anymore, and unnecessary things are happening.

As much as it sucks to say this, "The Walking Dead" is slowly dying off.

Don't get me wrong here, this has been one of the best shows to watch for years now. I've never seen so many people group together and enjoy a show so quickly in my life. I've even made friends over the show. However, in recent episodes, things have been straying away from the comics and going toward a path no one expected (or wanted) at all.

When King Ezekiel was introduced, I was cool with it. It was an interesting twist to have someone who thought they were a sacred king and whatnot. But when his pet tiger (Yes, pet tiger) was shown, I remember rolling my eyes right away. Really? A tiger that escaped from the zoo is just domesticated? In the middle of an apocalypse? It was an unneeded turn that didn't really make too much sense.

Now, let's talk about Glenn. Abraham's death was tragic, and yes he had a story. But Glenn getting killed as well? He had such a great storyline to continue, so many things he could have done with Maggie and the baby. I get that it made for an awesome dramatic ending, and in some ways it'll be more of a story for Maggie; Yet, Glenn was a valuable character.

Touching more on Maggie, isn't she pregnant? Why have we not seen her stomach get bigger, morning sickness, or anything like that? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall ever seeing anything about her losing the baby. If this is the writers drawing away from a good story, it's a horrible idea. So many of us wanted to know how the birth was going to play out.

This isn't me completely bashing this show. I still love the show, watch it every Sunday, and I plan on going to the next Walker-Stalker Con near me. I just feel like things are slowly being forgotten about, making the whole show confusing.

I cannot tell you how many times I've had to text someone else watching to ask them to fill me in, or explain whatever I didn't understand before.

Now the biggest problem: Carl Grimes. Besides for the obvious fact that I loved Carl (Shoutout to Chandler Riggs, you're such a doll) with all of my heart, he had probably the biggest story that could have been developed. They built up so much with him from the beginning, and everything he went through made his character that much more important. When his eye got shot, they made it a really big deal, and conspiracies went around that he could be just like the governor.

There were a thousand and one ways Carl's story could have went, and killing him off was never one of them. His death strayed far from the comics, and far from what anyone expected. It makes me upset that such a great character with a plot line everyone followed was booted from the show.

Yes, of course we watch the show for the concept of the show, but actors/actresses are what make the show intriguing enough for us to keep watching.

Taking out fan favorites makes fans want to boycott the show, stop supporting it, and turn the TV to another channel.

Besides that, things have just gotten confusing and it's becoming more of a fantasy sci-fi than dramatic (yet realistic) science fiction show.

So writers of the show, if you're ever by chance reading this, do us all a solid and change the thoughts and ideas behind "The Walking Dead" before it gets killed off forever.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
