The entertainment industry is full of Photoshop, touch up, editing, and an all around "fake-ness" now that technology is on the rise. People think that with the touch of a button they can make a person look perfect by changing their appearance. Photoshop is very popular in the photography and modeling industry where they will touch up and edit parts of the photo that don't seem perfect enough to the editor.
Grammy winner Meghan Trainor has always been an advocate for being yourself and flaunting whatever you got. Her popular song, "All About That Bass," preaches against Photoshop with lyrics like: "I see that magazine workin' that Photoshop, we know that shit ain't real, come on now make it stop." Meghan Trainor always shoots down anyone who talks poorly about her looks and loves her body the way it is.
On May 9, Trainor furiously posted this Snapchat story talking about how she took down her latest music video, "Me Too," because her waist was Photoshopped and she didn't give her proper consent.
She continues to apologize to her fans saying that she did not approve the video. New stations all over the nation covered this scandal which made the story go viral.
I personally don't mind a few touch-ups here and there on an Instagram post but to Photoshop someones waist entirely? That's pretty ridiculous, especially Meghan Trainor, who is always staying true to her body and curves. Honestly, whoever did this edit did a horrible job considering her waist isn't even proportionate to her butt. A huge shout out to her for sticking up for herself when she sees something she doesn't believe in and taking a stand to fix it.
Trainor demanded that her record company put out the un-Photoshopped version to show off her real curves and stay true to her "anti-Photoshop" image. You go, Meghan.Check out Meghan Trainor's new music video, "Me Too," here:
