In order to move forward, we need to go back. We think about why people act the way they do. All the problems that happened within the past three years should be concerning to everyone. Doing more research on the past will help people become more alert so they can prevent history from repeating itself.
In my opinion, any rational thinking person knows Donald Trump is dangerous to this country, and the apple does not fall far from the tree. The way he thinks and acts can be traced back to his parents. Donald Trump was shaped into the narcissistic sociopath he has become by his dad, Fred Trump, who was an even bigger crook and conman. There was a report by the New York Post about how Fred Trump forever altered Coney Island after he bulldozed Steeplechase Park. The only thing remaining is the Parachute Jump, which became a symbol of the positive and negative aspects involving Coney Island's history.
Coney Island was a place that attracted diversity. Many people gathered to enjoy all the fun attractions. It did not last. Similar to the way his son operates businesses today, Fred began the Trump family tradition of controversial decision making. In the 1950s, in a diverse neighborhood on Coney Island referred to as "The Gut," Fred Trump took over the entire community after it was zoned for "urban renewal." He seized the properties and replaced the houses there with "Trump Village."
According to a report, Fred Trump forced 900 African Americans to be relocated to the summer bungalows in the west coast of Coney Island, and for each one that left, he made a profit.
In the 1970s, Fred and Donald were sued for discrimination against African Americans. Fred began racking up scandals at the same rate that Donald did within the past 30 years. Some include maximizing profits while building houses for U.S. veterans, polluting Coney Island creek, and of course, demolishing Steeplechase Park. Along with having corrupt intentions, Fred also used women as objects to promote his businesses.
Today, Donald Trump follows in his father's sleazy, dirty, scandal-ridden footsteps.
He is acting like a bully and instead of uniting this country, he chooses to divide it. As a young generation, we cannot let ourselves be influenced by our parents all the time. Americans need to start thinking independently, do research on past events, start fighting against crooks like Donald Trump and prevent him from destroying this country — just like his father did to Coney Island.
