To The Stressed Out Student, Don't Forget To Remember The Little Things

To the stressed-out student... don't forget to remember the little things.

As we go through college, there are plenty of things to stress over—tests, quizzes, midterms, papers, projects. Combine that with attempting to have an active social life, keeping your room clean, trying to stay healthy and just about everything else... and well, you're probably pretty overwhelmed.

I'll be the first to say that I'm constantly stressed. As a self-proclaimed overachiever, it's usually because of the immense pressure I put on myself. If you're anything like me, you hold yourself to a certain "standard—" whether that be in your schoolwork, projects, etc.

I've spent my fair amount of time in college incredibly overwhelmed with a massive workload and trying to maintain the "balance" of everything. There's been plenty of times where I've wished away time and couldn't wait for a semester to end. But as I am now in my final year of college, I've realized that, in the end, the stress won't be the thing you remember as you graduate.

When you look back on college, you're going to remember the game days where you lost your voice cheering on the Dawgs, the nights out with your friends and all of the times you laughed until you cried. You'll remember the "song" of freshman year, screaming "Dixieland Delight" and laughing until you cry. You'll remember the moments that mattered the most.

When you're stressed, remember these golden moments that make college and the University of Georgia such a wonderful place. Yes, I know that sounds cliché, and I'm not saying you won't remember studying for hours on end— let's face it, we're all going to remember those too. In the grand scheme of things, though, college is so much more than studying for nights on end.

From a senior, cherish every moment you have at this university. Know that while your education and courseload are challenging— it's the in-between moments that matter. Remember the moments that make college the wonderful four years that it is, and embrace the little things. It's easy to wish college away as we stress over our midterms and down another coffee at the MLC. Don't forget to remember the good.

Most of all, never forget... it's great to be a Georgia Bulldog.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
