Hi Everyone! So as the month of February has flown past me I realized I just kept getting busier and busier. If you have noticed this too, I'm sorry. I'm here to empathize. It seems like work is piling and you can't seem to catch a break. Well, if you are anything like me, this has become my new reality from homework, my job, and social life. I am amazed I find time to breathe. So, today in my article I am going to share some tips and tricks to take time to unwind and relax.

1. Find a favorite show or movie.

This might seem silly but this can be an hour or 30 min you set aside each week to unwind and catch up on something you enjoy.

2. Make time for friends.

Even if it is just for a quick coffee or a small conversation in the SUB, human interaction is still important.

3. Talk to your family.

I know this crazy, but I do this a lot. These are the people that raised you and they are more than happy to be the people you vent to when the stress has reached an all-time high.

4. Drive around.

I did this a lot during Christmas break. I loved looking at the lights and the cold weather, and this gave me time to unwind and just enjoy the moment.

5. Treat yo' self.

Whether it be a trip to target or to get a Sonic drink, sometimes just the change of scenery is all you need to begin to unwind.

6. Journaling.

My form of journaling happens to be blogging! This is a small part of my busy week where I don't have to think of anything else and I can just write what I feel.

7. Furry Friends.

In case you didn't know, I love my dogs A LOT and sometimes just having the opportunity to see them or another dog around campus is all I need to stop my constant worry.

8. Finding what you love.

That could be cooking, arts and crafts, hey, even cleaning! Whatever it is, make sure it is something you love doing to put your mind at ease.

9. Find the good kind of busy.

If you are like me, I love being busy, but it has to be the right kind of busy. If I am busy doing something I don't enjoy, then this adds a whole new layer of stress I don't need.

10. Find your jam.

I love listening to music whether I'm doing homework or just running errands. Find yourself a playlist that you love listening to so these tasks that lie ahead don't seem as daunting when you have found your kick-butt theme music.

Well, friends, I have not mastered all of these things yet but I'm working on it. I hope you find at least one or two of these items on the list so you can relax while still being on the run.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
