Rejection, You're The Worst

How to deal with rejection and heartbreak.

As Andy Williams once sang, "Its the most wonderful time of the year." That being said, cuffing season is here which means everywhere we look there are cute couples doing cute couple things in honor of the seasons changing, and if you're as lonely as me, we want to scratch our eyes out and get right to Spring. It's only October, and I have already had my fair share of rejection this semester. Honestly, a little too much. And it sucks, but just because it is cuffing season doesn't mean you still can't have the time of your life with friends or even by yourself!

Get out there and do cute fall things! Go do a photo shoot with your friends at a pumpkin patch, pick pumpkins to paint and carve, and order those pumpkin spice lattes. Don't let being rejected and single kill your vibes. If you want to go out and do fall things, do it! You don't need to have a boyfriend— all you need is your best friends and a good photographer to catch all the right angles. Trust me, getting in the fall and holiday spirit with your besties will cheer you up and make you forget about all the boy problems.

Have a movie marathon! Rom coms, chick flicks, you name it. You'll get a good, well-deserved laugh out of them. Having some downtime with movies is crucial for your mental state. Maybe it's all you need... just some downtime with yourself and another corny JLo rom-com. Better yet, start a Disney's classics marathon. Sing along to your favorite songs and enjoy the hopeless romantics finding their way through life and adventure. All that's left is to cuddle up in your blanket, grab some popcorn and sweet treats, and get the marathon started.

Listen to music! Music always makes me feel better no matter what. It is an instant mood changer whether I want to be sad or overly happy, music knows how to work my mind. Plus, Khalid just came out with a beautiful EP that is worth the listen to and I promise it won't disappoint. It will get you feeling some way but will help you look past the rejection and focus on the beauty of life and being with the ones closest to you.

One day your prince will come, he's just lost right now. Rejection sucks, but being with your friends, having movie marathons, and music is so much better than what that guy could give you. You are so much better than that and do not deserve someone who would not give you the world the first time. Everything happens for a reason! Sometimes we just have to move past it with some ice cream and best friends.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
