Just got out of a relationship? Already planning your next hook-up? Don’t do it. Here are five reasons why you should take a vacation instead. Bring your best friends along too!

1. It will allow you to focus on yourself

Getting involved in a rebound relationship won’t allow you to take a step back and focus on your needs and desires. On a vacation, you can have your alone time, while having fun as well. You can also take time to reflect on what is going on in your life.

2. You gotta keep moving forward

Just because a relationship ended, doesn’t mean your life does. What’s the point in dwelling on a broken relationship? What’s the point in getting into a new one when you’re not ready? A vacation will push you to move forward and who knows, you’ll probably experience things you’ve never experienced before!

3. It'll be more memorable

A vacation is made up of tons of memories! You never know what’s gonna happen and it’s your time to try things you’ve always wanted to try before. You’ll create tons of new memories with your closest friends and you’ll learn more about yourself.

4. Take a break from all the drama

Getting out of a relationship is tough and an emotional rollercoaster. Take a break from reality and travel to somewhere out of your comfort zone. A rebound relationship can cause even more unwanted drama. A vacation will help you relax and escape reality for a bit.

5. Life is too short

The old saying is back. Life is really too short, though. You’re wasting your time by searching for something that you think is going to make you feel whole and loved again. Instead, you might end up in a situation that is quite the opposite. So, buy that plane ticket! You’ll just be focused on loving yourself and surroundings.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
