Having healthier hair shouldn’t be a question. It’s okay to be scared of “the big chop.” But spending large amounts of money and risking hair loss is pretty draining. There’s no point in walking around with damaged hair and feeling like your hair got the best of you, just so you can meet with European standards. Your hair will feel free after you decide to start a new chapter. Here are 7 reasons why you should go natural:

1. Versatility

Having natural hair makes it easier for you to come up with many different styles. You can wear curly hair one day and then straight the next. The styling possibilities are endless when it comes to natural hair.

2. Less time consuming

You can come up with multiple styles which only take 5 minutes to do. You’ll never have to worry about having your hair take up too much time!

3. Saves you money

Would you rather be spending a Saturday at the hair salon and paying pretty much $40 every 2 weeks? I don’t think so. People argue that natural hair products are pricey but the thing is that they last a long time. You’re using only NATURAL products on your hair and if you don’t want to buy them, you can use items that you have in your home. Trust me, it’s way worth it than going to the hair salon and spending more money.

4. Healthier hair

5. Your hair will grow properly!

Split ends are very common with damaged hair. Your hair will grow at random lengths. This is coming from a girl who has been wearing perms since 13. When you go natural, your hair will grow evenly and your ends will be healthier as well.

6. You can still wear weaves and extensions.

Because you’ll love the fact that you can do whatever you want with your hair, be able to have healthy hair, and be able to bond with other women who are apart for the natural hair community!

7. Sense of self-pride!

Because you’ll love the fact that you can do whatever you want with your hair, be able to have healthy hair, and be able to bond with other women who are apart for the natural hair community!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
