Every now and then, college students just have that urge to drop out. Some don't act on it because it is one of those things that just pass, while others actually do. College students put in a lot of work and sometimes it can be overwhelming, scary or even hard. It does affect us in our everyday lives but sometimes we just can't push away that feeling of wanting to drop out and run away from it all. So here are a couple reasons to stay in school.

1. We are able to learn so much

Learning is basically what gets us stressed out. We have to learn, duh. That's why we're in college but sometimes that work that comes along with learning is hard. You might love the subject you're learning about but the homework or exams are just too extra or not understandable. It leads us to have overnighters in the library and surviving off Redbull and chips.

2. Your friends are here

You probably came to college with some old friends and made new friends on the way. If you drop out, you won't be able to see them as much. Sure you can visit every once in a while but it's not the same when you can grab lunch every day or study together whenever you want.

3. You don't want to work a crappy job

College degrees get people places. You don't want to be stuck making minimum wage at a place that you totally hate. You want to work your dream job and have fun while doing it. You won't be able to if you didn't put in the work to help prepare you for your dream job. College prepares you and gives you tools to use in the future.

4. College prepares you

Not only do you learn about school subject but you also learn different skills like social skills and employer skills. College sets you up for the real world but slowly teaching and preparing you. You will learn how to talk to employers, how to seek them out, and how to land your dream job. You won't have these skills plus more if you drop out.

5. College helps your future

College sets your future up for you. Employers will see where you went to school, what you did there and how those details will apply to your future in working for somebody. They will ask about your college experience and what you learned. You won't have an answer if you didn't go to college.

6. You are able to make connections

You never know what new doors can be opened through college staff and professors. Maybe a professor really likes your work ethic and connects you to people that are able to give you a job after college. Even those who are alums can like you more than others because you both went to the same college.

7. You already made it this far

You already worked this hard and made it this far. Why quit now when you see that your future is so close?

College sets you up for life. You learn and gain skills that will help you in your future. You will also make great memories and awesome friends that will last you a lifetime. It does seem hard and you do have to put in a lot of work but you need to earn your degree. Don't drop out because there are so many more great things you need to do!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
