So I pretty much have the same backstory as many other females my age: teenage years were all the rage with the idea of being in love young, getting married by a specific age, having kids by another specific age, and having a beautiful home and family and successful job. But now I am 22 and I have had, more than I would like to admit, failed relationships. My plans were not very well executed, obviously. And I won't lie, it wasn't from lack of wanting them to work out. But rather than focusing on why it never worked out or why it “sucks" that I don't have cute boy pictures in my phone, here's a few reasons why being single (at least in my opinion) is a good thing.
1. It’s fall- You don't have to shave your legs
2. You get to learn who you are as an individual
3. Less stress at holiday dinner conversations and more time to watch the other siblings get scolded on their failed relationships
4. You can do WHATEVER you want to do without considering anyone else
5. You can watch the Notebook whenever and not get those judgemental stares or frustrating sighs
6. You don't have to worry about being cheated on, lied to, or manipulated by someone else
7. You have more time to focus on becoming your own version of Elle Woods
8. You don't have to work out if you don't want to
9. You can plan your own nights out- surprisingly doing things alone is pretty great
10. You can focus on the people you know you can always count on
11. You become a prospect for all those guys who will never notice you- Chase, I am calling you out!
12. When you're watching shows/movies that involve relationships and love, you don't have to feel upset because your “boyfriend” doesnt look at you the way Jack Pearson looks at Rebecca
