Sleep is a hot commodity in college. There is never enough time in the day to get those crucial eight hours of sleep. Your saving grace as a college student are naps; the naps that we avoided as children are now some of our best friends.
1. Naps are mini sleeps.
Who doesn't love mini things? Just think: mini shampoo bottles, mini coopers, mini (baby) animals, etc, are all adorable!
2. Naps are very refreshing.
After a long day, a nap is just the thing you need to perk up enough to finish your day.
3. Naps are good for you.
According to the National Sleep Foundation, "a short nap of 20-30 minutes can help to improve mood, alertness and performance". Basically, you now have a valid reason for sleeping in the middle of the day.
4. Naps are a way to put life and its stresses on hold.
Napping when you are having a bad day or need a break can make you feel better. Some call it avoidance, but it's really just putting off your responsibilities to nap.
5. Naps can help you refocus.
When you can no longer see straight because of the paper you've been writing, a nap can refocus you and your vision.
6. Naps ease the effects of an all-nighter.
Pretty much every college student has done a forced all-nighter, albeit a Netflix binge or writing a paper you procrastinated, and the next day is brutal without a nap.
7. Naps are just all-around awesome.
No matter how you look at it, naps make life better. College is hard, take naps!
