5 Reasons Why I Am A Concert Junkie

I've been to a good amount of concerts, and I've loved every one of them.

The first concert I've ever attended was Hilary Duff.

Yes, Hilary Duff, as in Lizzie McGuire.

I was about 6 years old and at the time and I was obsessed with Disney and all celebrities from the shows.

While of course, I may not remember much from this concert I can definitely say that this was the start of my obsession.

Concerts have always made me love the performers even more than I did before seeing them live. I've gotten to meet so many new people and see so many cool things.

I love concerts for the craziest reasons.

1. The screaming

You know you had a good time when you wake up the next day with your voice completely gone and your head is pounding. You watch the videos on your phone and you can't even hear the performance because all you hear is your singing and screaming the performers' names.

2. The random bruises

General admission. The best and worst area to be in at a concert. You find yourself constantly being pushed back and forth from the back row to the first row. You've never felt so many elbows bump into your body and your head has been hit by a water bottle at least once.

3. The food

Overpriced junk food is really there for you when you have no energy left. Music festivals always have the best food. They usually have the biggest selection and everything is worth the wait.

4. The people

I've met some really cool people while waiting on line. There are so many different types of people you see at a concert and they're all unique in their own way. It's also really fun to talk to people who enjoy the same music as you.

5. Live performances sound way better

I personally enjoy watching live performances more because I feel more in touch with the music. Sure when you listen to the CD at home you can listen for as long as you want and you're all alone, but it's just a different feeling when it's live.

While concerts may not be for everyone, I think most people should get the chance to experience one. It's a chance to get out of your comfort zone and experience something different.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
