"Real friends don't get offended when you insult them. They smile and call you something even more offensive."

1. They can sing every song of Hannah Montana with you and actually like it.

Sure, there are some guys out there who will do girly things with their girlfriends, but they don't actually enjoy doing them. With girls, you can turn on a Hannah Montana song in a long car ride and you can bet they will be screaming at the top their lungs to "Nobody's Perfect"... then later they will probably be crying to "7 Things."

2. It isn't annoying when they call you 20 times in 2 minutes.

If you have to get ahold of your best friend, you get ahold of her. When a guy calls you too much it can be annoying. It can mean he is too clingy or even semi-psychotic. However, when your best friend calls you it isn't creepy at all. And if you don't answer she will just track your location.

3. Sleepovers are more fun.

You don't have to act cute. You can shove carbs down your throat and gossip about Dan from Delta Chi all night and no one will ever know.

4. You have another closet.

Boys clothes are comfy to wear, but you can't wear your "Rush Sig Ep" shirt to your cousin's wedding.

5. They are more honest with you.

Boys will do anything to keep a girl from crying. Seriously. I think that they would rather get eaten by a goose than make a girl cry. Plus, we are more sensitive when boyfriends are honest with us. "He told me I looked tired and I'm not wearing makeup... am I really that ugly?" Then your friends will straight up comment on all of your ugly pictures from ten years ago and tell you how gross you were and you won't even think twice about it.

6. They can help you John Tucker someone.

If you haven't seen "John Tucker Must Die" go and watch it. The movie is gold and you and your friend can do this to someone. Bonding.

7. You don't have to dress up for them.

"Oh my gosh, I never dress up for my boyfriend. He IS my best friend." Well, can you not shave your legs for three months then go up and tell your boyfriend to feel it? Can you puke all over your hair and expect your boyfriend to put your hair in a bun for you? Can you send pictures of you with yesterday's makeup all over your face? Can you go out to eat with your boyfriend in sweatpants and a messy bun? Maybe. But with your best friend, you do this on the daily.

8. Your cycles will finally go in sync and you can both be psychotic PMSing crazy girls together.

When girls spend too much time together, their periods sync together. So you can literally be psycho, eat double fudge brownie Ben and Jerry's ice cream, key your ex's car, cry about not having any more pizza rolls, and watch "The Notebook" with them on repeat for a straight week. Also, you know if you're late on your period if your best friend started hers.

9. You never run out of things to talk about.

Whether it is your sorority making you go to a mandatory event at 7 a.m., the boy in your class that keeps trying to get your number, what kind of food you want to eat, the girl that looks nothing like her Instagram in person, or the boy that you want to see at the next darty, you never run out of things to talk about.

10. You can talk to them about your exes.

Boyfriends get so butt hurt when you bring up your past. With girls, you can tell them anything about your ex. Anything.

11. You can send them pictures of you doing anything and they will not judge.

Double chin. Sitting on the toilet. A picture of your bra in your purse because you got sick of wearing it.

12. You can walk into their house without even knowing that you're coming over.

"Hey I'm coming now." or "I'm here." Is a text you never have to send because you can just walk right in even when you weren't

13. You can be yourself around them.

You don't have to pretend to be someone you're not. You really shouldn't do this anyway, but your best friend knows the real you.

14. They've seen you when you're a hysterical sobbing monster and they still love you.

There is an "I'm holding everything in" cry where your eyes get glossy and look someone pretty. Then there is a hysterical sobbing with black eyeliner and mascara running down your face as your lips thin out and your face is bright red. Then there is the "I'm so mad I'm punching a hole in the wall" cry. Your best friend has seen you at all three of these. She will never get mad at you when you cry and she will always be there to try and make you feel better.

15. The most expensive date you'll go on with them is a 2 AM trip to Taco Bell.

This is essential to friendship. If you deny your friend Taco Bell at 2 AM you are not their best friend.

16. They're your wing man, but they won't go after the guy you like.

Boys do this thing where they are each other's "wing man" but then they always seem to go after the same girls. Girls won't do that to each other. However, they will help you get cute boys and hey, maybe those cute boys have cute friends.

17. They will do anything with you.

You know whenever your mom said, "If Gabby jumped off a bridge would you do it too?" Well, the answer is yes. If one of us makes a fool out of ourselves we're doing it together.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
