Everyone in New England knows that Winter time is not a fun time. We don’t get to simply throw on a light jacket and go on with the rest of our days like they do in Florida and Southern California. Here in New England, we prepare for the worst. For those of us stuck in the middle of it and ready to rage, here’s a list of 12 reasons why New England Winter’s are the worst Winters:
1. One day it’s 50 degrees and the next day it’s -5 degrees.
Weather shock is real.
2. You can’t make plans without potentially having to cancel due to a sudden snow storm.
3. Your car engine suddenly has more problems starting in the colder months.
4. You could loose your power from a single gust of wind.
5. Your pipes might freeze.
Guess you’ll have to skip showers for a while.
6. The traffic is a million times worse
7. When the snow plow comes and the roads are more narrow than they were to begin with.
So you’ll have to yell at your neighbors for parking on both sides of the street.
8. If it’s not snowing, you wish it was, because then there’d be a reason for the freezing cold you're feeling.
9. Everyone around you gets sick.
Especially in RI. Air travels fast in the smallest state.
10. You want to enjoy the beauty of the snow covered New England landscapes and the ice stretching across the bay...
But your fingers and toes hurt so you stay inside instead.
11. Salting the streets and sidewalks sounds safe in theory...
But when you notice the damage and erosion to your car come Spring, you’ll be sorry.
12. Your house never seems to heat up the way it should and the heat bill is too high already.
It’s probably because your old windows from the colonial times are letting in gusts of cold air.
