Heading back to campus for the second semester is always a blessing and a curse. You're super excited to be reunited with your college BFF's and get back to the shenanigans that can only take place in your college town, but then you remember you'll actually have to deal with school again, ew. By following these 13 realistic pieces of advice, you're not only going to crush the second semester but frankly, you'll make it your bitch.

1. Get organized.

If you create an organized space for yourself, you'll feel like your life itself is more put together.

2. Make lists.

Making a to-do list and writing it in a planner or even the notes section of your phone can make you more likely to remember the things you need to accomplish.

3. Set goals before the semester begins.

Before classes even begin, think of how you want your semester to go. This may include what you want your GPA to look like or how you're going to plan out each week. Hold yourself accountable for these goals throughout the semester.

4. Use a planner.

This goes along with being organized, but seriously, get yourself a planner if you don't already have one. Especially if it's a cute one because you're going to want to use it then.

5. Treat yourself when you accomplish your goals.

If you accomplish your goals and can see the result, treat yourself! Get your nails done or take yourself out for a good cup of coffee to celebrate.

6. Lay out your outfit the night before.

You'll wonder why you didn't think of this sooner. You can finally hit the snooze button and not feel so guilty.

7. Meal prep

Just like your outfits, plan your meals ahead of time too! You won't be reaching for the chip bag as much if your meals are already prepared for you in the fridge.

8. Plan out when you will exercise.

If you know your evening will be busy, plan on a morning workout that day. Get your semester started off right and it will become a daily habit.

9. Focus on your future.

Start asking yourself "will this decision benefit my future self?"

10. Don't skip class.

Good grades require time in and out of the classroom. Remember that.

11. Keep track of each syllabus.

Note the deadlines for projects and assignments and how much of your grade each assignment is worth. The syllabus will not likey be modified, so follow it closely.

12. Use a color coding system in your planner.

Use different colored pens or highlighters for different categories (work, school, personal, etc.).

13. Don't procrastinate.

As tempting as it may be, don't let yourself procrastinate on assignments or you will only become more stressed.

Watch our second semester, you're about to get crushed.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
