But who helped her? Why is she not doing what everyone else is doing? Why is she making her life so public? Why is she being so vocal?
Female celebrities are in a constant spotlight, and are often expected to fall inline with other celebrities in how to act, dress, and speak. But these three women won't let the shackles of tradition hold them down...
1. TAYLOR SWIFT
Back in 2009, when Taylor was a mere 19 years old, Kayne infamously ripped the mic out of her hands and spoke the famous line: "I'mma let you finish"
The two "frenemies" reportedly made amends after Taylor wrote a song entitled "Innocent", forgiving Kayne for his mistake.
That would have been a nice ending to the story, but unfortunately Kayne wasn't done. On Kayne's recent album, he raps, "“For all my Southside ni**as that know me best / I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous / God damn / I made that bitch famous.”
Adding insult to injury, anyone (celebrity status or not) would have the right to feel pretty insulted. However, Taylor kept her cool. Her newest album was all about finding herself, and Taylor kept her response filled with class and grace, "As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammy's twice, I wanna say to all the young women out there: there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success, or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame, but if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you’re going, you’ll look around and you’ll know that it was you and the people who love you that put you there, and that will be the greatest feeling in the world"
If you were wondering, Kayne's net worth is $145 Million.
Taylor's? Over $200 million, with estimates upward of $240 million.
Stay classy Taylor.
2. BEYONCÉ
Almost no one loves Beyoncé more than white girls trying to dance at a party (semi-kidding), which may be why her latest single "Formation" created such a stir. Beyoncé performed "Formation" at this last Super Bowl with a plethora of talented background dancers. These dancers outfits resembled that closely that of the black movement group "Black Panthers."
Several of her dancers posed for a picture holding a sign stating "Justice for Mario Woods," who refused to drop a knife in 2015 and was shot. It was obvious she was making a statement about the Black Lives Matter movement.
Audience were awestruck, SNL even did a skit on the day Beyoncé turned black, but Beyoncé has not made any apologies, as she shouldn't. She has embraced her heritage and isn't ashamed to fight for it.
3. DEMI LOVATO
Celebrities have always had an aura around then, making them seem anything but human. Demi however, is happy to tear that wall down, and reveal how normal they really are.
[Then 19 year old] Demi publicized that she was checking herself into rehab for self-mutilating, anorexia, and bulimia. Demi didn't want her fans to think she was perfect, and was unhappy with the image she was giving off.
Upon being released from rehab, Demi quickly gained 30 pounds, and talked about how much happier and healthier she felt, curves and all.
Demi's recent single is entitled "Confidence" with the lyrics, "What's wrong with being confident?" Demi promotes self-love to all her fans and wants them to know that it's okay to love yourself just as you are.
Growing up is hard enough as is, and often girls are torn between what's right and what's wrong. But I have faith that with role models who speak kindness and forgiveness, who take risks and stand behind what they believe, and who aren't afraid to show self love, us girls will turn out just fine.
