"Plants have feelings too"
There are a lot of misconceptions that go along with what being vegetarian really is. One of the most popular is actually mixing vegetarian and vegan with one other. Vegetarian is strictly no meat, as opposed to vegan which is no animal by-products at all; so eggs, milk, honey. Now there are plenty of different forms of being vegetarian, such as a version where you only eat seafood/fish which would be pescetarianism. But that's where things get a little more complicated.
People also believe vegetarians have an easier time staying fit. This can go two different ways, if you don't do the diet correctly such as substituting protein you get from meat with eggs or beans, you can become too skinny and unhealthy. Also, there is plenty of fattening food to keep you preoccupied and chubby, like most peoples favorite PIZZA. Although I will say being vegetarian has allowed my body to feel healthier and happier.
There are plenty of reasons behind wanted to become vegetarian like religious, ethical or even moral reasons. Personally, I became vegetarian for the animal cruelty aspect of raising animals on a farm for slaughter/the abuse and mistreatment many of farm animals have to go through in their lifetime just really put me off on eating meat.
On the other hand, no you eating meat in front of me doesn't bother me one bit. It tends to not really bother many vegetarians because that's your own life choice to eat meat. Vegetarians are simply abstaining from eating certain foods, as long as you aren't slaughtering an animal in front of us we are okay. And yes before you ask we do eat more than just vegetables and lettuce.
You'd be surprised by the amount of food and dishes that are vegetarian in this day of age. Restaurants have become more accustomed to offering a vegetarian option, say a black bean patty in replace for a burger patty. Food can be vegetarian and still yummy. Wow, what a shocker, right? Which leads me to the fact that we can go to just about any restaurant and still be able to find something on the menu, even if we just need to simply ask for no meat in the dish.
Yes, I'm aware of the fact that "If humans weren't made to be carnivores, then why do we have canine teeth" Well just because we have the ability to do something doesn't mean its morally correct or good for us/the planet.
