Summer concerts, music festivals, Taylor Swift's world tours, every single Fall Out Boy tour there ever was or ever will be–you name it, and I'll be there. Music is about as integral a part of my life as going to class every day and getting an education. It's there, always there, and I'm not really sure how I would get by without it.
That being said, there's nothing better than hearing the lyrics you've been singing in your head for the last two months being sung out loud, and by none other than your favorite artist themselves. It's exhilarating, it's inspirational, and that's what a concert is for me. It's a slew of just about every beautiful and lively adjective that I can think of, and then more. For me, the point isn't always the artist you're seeing, but rather the idea that what they've created, music and lyrics that fit so perfectly together, are coming to life before your very eyes. Don't get me wrong though, going to see your favorite artist is a big part of it too. I mean, Taylor Swift could stand on stage and sing nursery rhymes for two hours straight and I'd still probably pay to see it, but that's just me.
Concerts aren't only about the music. They're also about the people you bring with you. My best friend and I try to go to as many concerts as we can every year, or at least at many concerts as our budget will allow us to pay for, because they're an opportunity for us to get together and have fun. They're a chance for us to turn into fangirls over every band member of our favorite bands without feeling ridiculous for doing so because everyone else there is doing the same thing. They're a chance for us to laugh and giggle, jump up and down in our unique attempts to dance, and scream the lyrics to all of our favorite songs. Concerts aren't only about the artists, aren't only about to music, they're about the unity they bring between everyone there.
When I buy concert tickets, I don't usually go big or go home. My friends and I go lawn seats, the nose bleed section, and general admission because we're broke college students, and we know that having a good time at a concert isn't about where you sit. It's about loving who you're going to see and who you're going to see them with. It's about the music, it's about the people, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
