I’m sure many of us have the same idea of a perfect Saturday: wake up, eat bagels, get your life together, start drinking and then do it all over again. Not going to lie, being able to look forward to these type of days gets me through the long days consisting of four back to back classes.

But then there are those wildcard Saturdays where it rains, and we’re pretty much left with nothing exciting to do in Newark, De.

For starters, you could always use this useless day to just never leave your bed, something you most definitely will want to do on Monday morning when that’s just not an option. Find a good movie on Netflix, change into your favorite rainy day pajamas, and just enjoy extreme uselessness of your day in the best way possible.

If you consider yourself a foodie or regular brunch goer, or just like eating breakfast, do some investigating of hidden brunch gems. Not only will this satisfy breakfast and lunch, but it will also break up the day and make it far less boring. Who doesn’t love a good oversized plate of pancakes, eggs, bacon, AND home fries all in one sitting.

This is something I should probably become better at: getting some work done ahead of time. It can only benefit you to spend an hour or two of your Netflix day doing some reading of a textbook or going over class notes. Or even do half an hour of work, then half an hour of Netflix, etc.

A rainy gloomy day most likely makes everyone miss being home and eating a home-cooked metal the end of the day, so why not whip up a big family style meal with the roomies. Find some recipes, take a trip to the supermarket, and get cooking. Not only is this quality roomie bonding, but it will probably be the best meal you eat all week since there will be no rush on time.

So those wine and painting classes are kind of in right now, but probably overpriced and if you’re not even 21, it could be a slight issue. Gather the girls and have your own wine/ painting party and create some decor for the living room. You never know, some Pinot Grigio could bring out your inner Picasso.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
