We all have those days when we need inspiration. I know I have those days a lot, especially when school and work get under my skin, and nothing seems to be going right. Here is a list of some of my favorite quotes for those hard times when I need a little extra push and motivation.

1. Never settle for second.

No, this doesn't mean second isn't good enough. By this, it means never settle for second if you know you can do better. If you do your best, then that's awesome, but keep trying and work until you get first! Don't settle.

2. Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.

Such a classic quote from one of my favorite movies A Cinderella Story. Never let fear keep you from doing what you want. Life is about taking chances, and if you let fear rule your life, you may be missing out on something great!

3. Experience the pain of discipline now or the pain of not meeting your goals later."

Quitting is such an easy option when things get tough, but by quitting you're giving up something amazing. To meet goals, you will experience hardships along the way. These hardships make you stronger along the way, and overcoming them makes you closer to your goal.

4. They told me I couldn't. That's why I did.

There will always be someone who doesn't agree with what you want, and may even shoot you down for it. Don't let discouraging people steer you away from your goals, but instead, prove to them that you can do anything you set your mind to.

5. Every day you wait is another day you won't get back again.

From the classic and beloved show One Tree Hill, and more importantly from the mouth of Whitey Durham. To keep it simple, don't wait. Make the best of every day, because you can't get it back.

6. Tomorrow is a new day.

Short, simple, and to the point. If today didn't go just as you planned, you've always got tomorrow to make up for it. Don't let one ruined day ruin your whole week.

7. The expert in anything was once a beginner.

This quote is something that I have to remind myself of every day. Owning my own YouTube channel, writing my own stories, etc., I often look at pros, and discourage myself thinking I will never be that good. I have to take a few steps back and remind myself that they were once beginners like me, and if I push myself hard enough, I can become a pro too.

I really hope these quotes help lift your spirits. Remember, always follow your heart, never give up, and you'll soon see the finish line.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
