Ever wonder where you should go for a quiet place to read or study on campus? Check out these places for a quiet sit-down place where you can relax, work, write, or do just about anything!

1. Lovejoy Library

The library is such a wonderful privilege we have at SIUE! All floors of the library are great places to study or just relax. I didn't really use the library the first couple of months of my time at SIUE and I definitely regret it. I always go there when I have a ton of stuff to do. It's a great place that can help you concentrate on your work! There's always a few comfy chairs you can sit in also, so maybe you can sneak a quick nap in!

2. Student Success Center

The Student Success Center, or SSC, is a great place to go to study or relax. You can always find a comfortable place to sit down and enjoy a few moments. Usually, there are people there you can talk to and pass time, and maybe even find a study buddy for your next exam!

3. Starbucks

The Starbucks seating area can get a little noisy if people are conversing back and forth, but if you plug your headphones in and listen to music, you can have a relaxing time, all while smelling the great smell of coffee!

4. Dunham Hall

Dunham Hall is definitely the quietest hall of them all. Dunham hall doesn't have very many classes and usually, it is just used for big lecture classes. You can always find a quiet place to sit in Dunham Hall if you need to relax before a big exam!

5. The Quad

The Quad is always super quiet on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Weekends at SIUE are extremely relaxing. There is no chaos of people rushing through the quad and no speakers standing near the infamous rock. You can find a bench by one of the trees, or if its warm out, you could sit on one of the hills in the grass to have a relaxing read or even a quick nap!

6. Rendelman Hall

I think Rendelman Hall is another quiet hall, mainly because there are no classes there. Not many people are rushing in and out of there, only office workers. Usually, there are open seats in the main lobby of Rendelman that people can sit and relax.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
