From musicians to mayors, the second half of this beloved reboot (or should I say remade) series has some stand out moments as well as some duller ones among all the glitter the Fab Five bring to our streaming screens. Here are my rankings of the final 4 episodes.
4. 'Big Little Lies'
In my opinion this might just be the poorest episode of the Netflix series to date. Although Ari's story might not have stood out amongst the original series where lazy 20 somethings were the core of the show's 'subjects' the remake does a great job at finding people that audiences want to root for and stay engaged until the final reveal. This was not the case in this episode.
3. 'Make Ted Great Again'
In the political madness that is our 24 hour news cycle, many people turn to fictional stories to get away from it. Which is why when I saw this episode focused on a mayor, especially one in the south, I was worried. But the episode wasn't too political, outside of a few Bernie and Hillary jokes so I was still able to enjoy it. However, I did think Ted could have used a well-trimmed beard instead of removing it all but maybe that just me!
2. 'Bedazzled'
I think it's safe to say Sean stole all our hearts once his hands struck his keyboard and he only kept it up with his over-politeness, especially when the Fab Five helped him get out of his comfort zone. As someone who went through the high school to college transition recently (3 years ago but still) I could relate to his nervousness, I only wish I had the Fab Five to help me along the way!
1. 'Sky's the Limit'
I'm not going to lie, I may or may not have been on the verge of tears the entire episode. Seeing how positive Skylar was despite all that he had been through as a trans man was inspiring and I couldn't help but smile along with him as the Fab Five helped him become the best man he could be. Who knew all it took was a well fitted suit?
