19 Inner Debates Happening Every Day During Quarantine

Quarantine is tough. It's funny how it's exhausting to be inside all day and with that come out our inner demons as we navigate through this weird time. Although that sounds creepy and deep, what I really mean to say is here are some small inner debates that all girls are having everywhere.

Am I hungry or just bored?

This applies to all humans, but it's becoming alarming the amount of times we all are standing in front of an open refrigerator or walking from the couch to the kitchen throughout the day. I think I hit my step count alone due to this one.

Sweats or real clothes?

Sweats just keep winning.

Just a little bit of makeup, no makeup, or full blown makeup?

I've been team no make-up for 6 weeks but hey, whatever floats your damn boat.

It is too early for wine?

No. The answer will forever be no.

Do I have to wear a bra for my video chats?

Pro tip: layer up and the answer will be no. But in all honesty, the answer will always be no during this time.

Should I text my 6th grade crush to see how they're doing?

Absolutely not. Throw your phone away.

Do I need to shower?

Probably not but if you're questioning it for the fifth day in a row, you might want to.

Do I need to drink more water?

Wine has water in it, no?

Do I have to turn my camera on for this video chat?

My rule is if it's 4 or more people (not including you), no you do not need to have it on. Does it show some initiative and better participation? Some might say so, but I don't think so. Less than 4 people, I'd recommend it but I'll continues to say this: who cares?

Should I do an Instagram Live?

No.

Do I go for a walk for fresh air?

Surprisingly, I'd say yes to this. Unless it's raining or too cold or any weather that you just don't want to be a part of, then it's a hard no.

Should I be really productive during this time like other people?

Are you taking care of yourself and feeling okay with how you're getting this this time? Then you're doing great, sweetie.

Should I take a nap?

The answer in this case - quarantine or not - is always yes.

Should I have a second dinner?

Again. Yes.

Should I really be going from drinking coffee to drinking alcohol every day?

Does it really matter at this point?

Should I try a whole new hair, makeup, and beauty routine?

Why not? You've got time to heal or adapt if things go wrong!

Should I work out?

Are you comfortable? If the answer if yes, then the answer to the above question is a no.

Should I go online shopping?

Yes. Unless you're broke. Then it's still most likely a yes, but maybe find a sale first.

Should I join TikTok?

No. This is just a hard no.

And the list goes on and on...

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
