It has been a month since I started school. When I started, I thought my Quantitative Reasoning class was going to be difficult and I would not be able to understand anything or do well. I was wrong. I am doing well in the class, far much better than I thought I would. I am not saying that I understand everything all at once, but I feel like I am doing fine as a first year college student. When I told some people that I had to take Quantitative Reasoning, I was told that the class was going to be hard and that I would fail. For me it is the reverse, I actually like the course and I think it gets easier once someone keeps practicing the material. Our first test was not bad at all, but for some it was. We had a quiz that the majority of the class did well on before our quiz. For instance, I got 10/ 10, and it made me happy because I know that I worked hard for it. I think it is not a hard course, it just has a lot of critical thinking and reasoning. It is called Quantitative Reasoning for a reason. I know that i will keep working hard to ace that class and be able to move to the next level. I will not feel good about myself if i know i did not live up to my full potential. I know that I will keep getting good grades and understanding the material better each and every day because I put in the effort to do well. When I do not understand something, I go for extra help at the Q center, where I find people who answer all my questions and help me understand the problems fully. I also have my study buddy, Domenica, who I study with every day and we help each other with our homework assignments and prepare for upcoming tests together. We always support each other and always quiz each other even when we know we are prepared. For our second quiz, we studied so much that we ended memorizing problems that were going to be on the quiz and we aced it. I am so proud that we got what we worked for and I know that we are going to keep doing it until we both have our degrees in nursing.
