Let it snow!

Fall came and went. Soon, we'll be in a winter wonderland (until we get tired of seeing it and it turns into ice...yikes!)

Because it's so cold and icy during the winter months, we often get bored and antsy because bonfire season is over, it's too cold to go to the beach, so what else can we do? Here are a few things to add to your bucket list this winter.

1. Ice Skating

Even if you don't know how, it's okay. I didn't know how (still don't), but my friends held my hand along the way, both literally and metaphorically. I will be the first to admit that I am very far from being Kristi Yamaguchi, but ice skating can be fun even if you're hugging the wall as you skate through the rink. There's no harm in giving it a try this winter!

2. Build a snowman

Yes, I don't care how old you are. If there is enough fluffy snow, build a snowman. Gather some friends, bundle up, and build your next Frosty...or Olaf.

3. Have a movie marathon

Whether it's Disney movies, all of the "Star Wars" movies, the "Twilight" series or the "Harry Potter" series, designate a snowy day to making some hot chocolate and watching movies all day.

4. Build an igloo

Okay, this one always intrigued me growing up, but I never made one because it seemed too complex for my five-year-old mind (and my current mind) to process. Let's make it a fun winter and actually (attempt to) build one!

5. Explore new coffee shops

I love finding very lowkey coffee shops and cafes. No matter the season, coffee is always a must! At least in the cold, we coffee addicts have an excuse to consume so much caffeine.

6. Go to a sporting event

We all may not be sports lovers, but from someone who knows absolutely nothing about sports, going to games is actually a lot of fun, despite your knowledge or lack thereof. The atmosphere is so exciting and lively. This is definitely a must this winter!

7. Explore new bookstores

Bookstores are such a relaxing place. I could spend hours in a bookstore and not get tired of it. Book Revue in Huntington is definitely a bookstore you need to check out!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
