Dear College Student,
The end of the semester in not easy. Between all the papers and projects due within days of each other, there's not much to keep one sane. It feels like the world is crashing down around you as you struggled to keep afloat.
Don't give up! That seems obvious, but I think some people still forget this. Don't let the stress get to you. You only have a few weeks left until it's summertime, which means a well rested and deserved break.
Here are a few tips to help you get through until the end of the semester:
1. Plan Study Breaks
Staring at a textbook and/or screen for hours is not healthy. Take a break from the studying. Spend about 30 minutes studying then take a 15-minute break. Go get a snack or take a walk outside.
2. Use Your Resources
I'm not sure about other colleges, but I know Ball State has resources to help students. The writing center, for instance, will look at the end of the semester papers, so you can make sure your grammar is correct. Look for things like that to find a way to destress.
3. Get Some Rest
Staying up studying until 3 am will not do anyone any good. Go to bed at a reasonable time. Sleep is important for your mind and body, so don't let the end of the semester take that away from you.
4. Find a Good Study Place
Let's be honest everyone has a different study style. Find a place your comfortable studying in. If you need peace and quiet, then find a place where not many people go. I know personally I can't study in my dorm room. I get distracted too easily by other things around me. I have to go to the library or lounge to get anything done. Find your place, so you can get your stuff done in a timely manner.
Good luck with all your final projects, papers, and test!
