Allow me to start this article by saying this: I’m extremely disappointed in my Patriots. Lamar Jackson was there for us not just once, but twice and we passed on him. Now don’t get me wrong, both our first round picks were great (though I'm not sure if signing Jeremy Hill in the offseason and then drafting Sony Michel in the first round of the draft was the wisest) for what we do, but I would’ve loved to see my favorite college player go to my favorite pro team.
Oh well, good luck to Lamar in Baltimore! He is primed to do well there, they have the same coaches that worked with Donovan Mcnabb and Micheal Vick, so he might just be a star one day.
Speaking of Cardinals in the pros, how about Terry Rozier and Donovan Mitchell? I mean those guys are cold blooded on the court! Who would’ve thought that the Celtics had a star Point Guard on their roster not named Kyrie Irving? Honestly at this point just start Rozier at the shooting guard position when Kyrie comes back next year.
Terry earned the nickname Scary Terry on the court, and its well deserved. I highly recommend everyone check him out during the Celtic’s series against the Cavs, but don’t judge too hard because Lebron is out there and he is the best basketball player (sorry MJ, you may have been the best competitor but Lebron is easily the best all-around player of the game) of all time.
Another reason for us Louisville fans to be proud is Donovan Mitchel, the new Dwayne Wade. They may have been defeated by the Rockets, but I believe Donovan Mitchell easily deserves rookie of the year after his playoff performances, they definitely weren’t expected to beat the Thunder, and Mitchell’s play elevated them in that series.
I think after Ben Simmon’s performance against the Celtics, Mitchell is a lock for Rookie of the Year. Simmons isn’t even a real rookie anyway (he sat out his first year but because the NBA has some whack rule, he is still considered a rookie) so Donovan Mitchell better wins it. Us Louisville fans have something to be proud of, and I love these two young Guards that will blossom to be stars in the league for many years to come.
One more mention for my Hilltopper fans, Deon Yelder has apparently been impressing New Orleans Head Coach Sean Payton with his receiving skills during the early rookie training camps. Yelder was a Tight End for Western Kentucky, and so Hilltopper Nation keep your fingers crossed for him as he continues his journey!
Last thing, allergies are upon us my brothers and sisters. Brace yourself, for the battle will be tough and a long lasting one. I have been suffering greatly due to watery eyes and a clogged nose, so if you are going through it too, just know I’m here with you. I don’t really have advice to give on allergies, I just wanted you all to know I’m in this shit too, and I understand it sucks! So here is a haiku to end off with about allergy season:
I prefer Winter
I can’t enjoy Spring, Summer
Due to allergies
