I am currently taking my first online class. American Government is nice to learn about; I took that last year. However, online classes are not for everyone. My friends love taking online classes, whereas I do not. I like human interaction. I like going to class and talking to my peers and teachers which is something that I cannot do while taking this class. Here is a small list of pros and cons of taking online classes:
Pros:
- You can take a test using Google
- There’s no need to change out of your pajamas
- It means one less class to take next semester
- If you pick the right class, it can be a GPA booster
- You can learn self-discipline and time management skills
- Work around your schedule: You can do the work at 7 am or 7 pm as long as it gets done
Cons:
- You have to teach yourself
- If the class is over winter or summer break, there’s a chance you only have a few weeks to get a semester of work done
- Do not procrastinate or you will fail
- Waiting hours for an email that holds the answer to a question
- Phones are such an easy distraction
- There are bound to be days when your computer decides not to turn on
