Prom is an often anticipated event for the majority of teenage students, but the days leading up to the special night might result in (multiple) headaches. Whether your head is spinning about dress alterations or places to eat, prom week is is stressful for everyone.
1. Trying to schedule your appointments so they do not interfere with each other.
Nail appointment at noon, but you scheduled your hair to be done at 12:15? What a nightmare.
2. Resisting all the junk food is practically impossible.
So many friends seem to be eating salads and loving it, but all that is on your mind is those cookies in the pantry. Satan likes to place snacks where they will be noticed in our weakest moments.
3. You set a world record at spending the most money in one week.
If anyone was to look at your credit card bill, they would be astounded.
4. Having anxiety that your hairstylist will totally screw up your hair.
We have all heard the horror stories of paying a ridiculous amount of money to have our hair styles, only to go back home and re-style it ourselves because we hate it.
5. Finding a date by now is nearly impossible.
At this point in the game, you and I both know the only dates you will be able to find are the ones who will end up dancing with another person or sit at the table because prom is not their thing. Going stag or with a group of friends will probably be your best choice.
6. Giving up and not going to prom seems like a logical choice.
All of the stress makes you want to give up and isolate yourself for a while.
7. But whenever the night comes, you are glad you went.
Despite all the frustration, all the tears, and all the giving in to food temptation, going out on the dance floor with your date or friends was worth it. After you graduate high school, the memories of prom night will stick with you; the stress of it all, however, will not.
