Are you looking for better ways to be productive? It can be hard, way harder during the holiday season. I get it, all I want to do is lay around and watch Netflix instead of working and doing assignments. This mindset can get you into trouble. Pretty soon, you are out of college and you are working nearly every day and no one stands for procrastination. Let's practice different ways to get over the holiday hump so we can SPRING into better habits this upcoming year.
Start off by making a To-Do list…
Before you go to bed each night, make a list. Start with the most important things first. Tell yourself, "we cannot move on until we finish this task". I am a pen to paper kind of girl so I like to psychically mark off each task I complete. There are many amazing and free apps you can use for this too.
Then, batch your work time…
Create little "segments" throughout the day of when you are going to work on what. In the mornings, you do emails. In the afternoons, you do phone calls. Get it? It is quite simple and it ensures you are not running around like a headless chicken.
Take breaks by working out…
This may sound gross to some but I PROMISE it works. If you are not a morning person, like me, make time in the afternoon for your workouts. It also breaks up your work time and gets you over the mid-day slump. I am not a fan of the afternoons so I try to find a way to make it interesting through a good workout and trying to get my steps in.
Put that phone away…
I am TERRIBLE at staying focused if I am anywhere near my phone. It even took me a minute to write this blog because I kept getting distracted. Put your phone down in thirty minute and one hour incriminates to see how much you can get done!
Learn how to say no…
It is okay to take care of yourself and to say no when you really do not want to do something. Take this as you want, make a list of things you want to commit too but always take care of yourself first.
